Summary:

The Lead Financial Navigator plays a vital role in supporting, revitalizing, and leading medical cost transparency for Altru’s patients and clients. With the significance of the No Surprises Act, a legal framework that protects patients from unexpected medical bills, this position focuses on establishing medical bill estimate templates and keeping them novel with continued payer contract alterations. The Lead also provides the Financial Navigators with training, onboarding, and resources to be confident and empowered within their work. With a healthcare landscape that is continuously changing, the Lead is influential in supporting patients of today, tomorrow, and into the future.

40 hours per week; Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Remote and onsite)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Utilizes Epic Systems to manage and support the creation of estimates and estimate templates with additional support staff, leadership, and the Estimate Oversight Committee.

  • Provides onboarding and training to Financial Navigators to ensure a smooth transition, supportive and welcoming environment, and a high understanding of financial services and financial clearance.

  • Obtains a strong understanding of the No Surprises Act and its healthcare implications for patient financial transparency.

  • Reviews, resolves, and responds to problems, concerns, and issues with self-pay and insurance estimates with thorough explanations and education to improve future similar cases.

  • Receives patient phone calls relating to or inquire about an estimate within an Altru location or service line.

  • Addresses patient complaints or escalation from the Financial Navigators.

  • Works with leadership and any associated teams for the continued pursuit of process improvement to better advocate for the patient and financial health of Altru.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Certification:

  • Epic Certification | Epic | Within 6 Months of Start Date | Employee Provides HR a Copy

  • Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record | Drivers License - Current State Licensed | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
