Summary:

The Patient Financial Services Assistant provides administrative and customer service support for the Patient Financial Services department by managing patient accounts, processing payments and invoices, maintaining accurate financial documentation, and assisting patients with billing inquiries.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides reception services by greeting visitors, verifying appointments, notifying employees of arrivals, directing guests to appropriate locations, and maintaining a professional front desk environment.

  • Coordinates multi-platform communication by answering and transferring calls, responding to voicemails, relaying messages to staff, and managing correspondence through Microsoft Teams and MyChart messaging systems.

  • Manages mail operations by collecting and distributing incoming mail and packages, processing outgoing correspondence, and coordinating courier services as needed.

  • Processes patient payments by accepting walk-in and phone payments, posting transactions to billing accounts, issuing receipts, and maintaining HIPAA compliance and cash handling procedures.

  • Maintains administrative records by performing data entry, managing filing systems, ensuring confidentiality of information, and retrieving documents as requested.

  • Provides document production support by photocopying, scanning, and faxing materials while maintaining equipment and office supply inventory.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Work Experience:

• Preferred: A minimum of 1 year Related Experience
