The Data Integrity Technician assists with Health Information Management functions to achieve HIM Performance Improvement goals. The Data Integrity Technician serves as a bridge between end users and implementation staff.Essential Job Functions:
Validates, verifies and monitors all information contained in the database and in reports against information in the system to ensure the integrity of the data.
Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, branch staff, customers and patients regarding documentation editing/corrections. Effectively facilitates interdepartmental meetings as needed, assuring hospital staff is provided with clear, pertinent and timely information regarding documentation edits and corrections.
Maintains accuracy of Altru Health System’s master patient index by following up on discrepancies related to patient information. Merges patients with multiple medical records numbers and/or account numbers by validation of patient, eliminating duplication and maintaining accuracy.
Communicates availability of continuing education opportunities pertaining to clinical documentation evaluation knowledge, skills, etc. Participates on team/committee regarding sharing of health information with customers (health information exchange).
Generates reports requested from ancillary departments, providers and administration.
Assists in development, testing, analysis implementation and maintenance of hospital systems.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
