Summary:

The Trauma Registrar II identifies trauma registry patients from information provided by the electronic medical record (EMR), abstracts each trauma patient's record, and enters this data into the trauma registry. This position works with vendors to identify and fix problems, as well as, to create new reports.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Identifies trauma registry patients from information provided by the electronic medical record (EMR) and the Emergency Department patient log.

  • Reviews each trauma patient record to determine if further review is appropriate and necessary.

  • Abstracts each patient’s record and gathers all data necessary for inclusion into the trauma database.

  • Develops, analyzes and presents reports for the Trauma Peer Review Committee and the multidisciplinary Trauma Systems Committee.

  • Works with vendors of the trauma database software in identifying problems and developing new reports.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

  • Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources

  • Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) | Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) | Within 12 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources

  • International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-10 Certificate | American Trauma Society | Within 12 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources

  • Trauma Registry Course (TRC) | American Trauma Society | Within 12 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 Days of Start Date | Learning Management System

Qualification/Education:

  • 6 years or more RN experience with ASN/ADN Degree OR,

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Notes:

  • Eligible to serve as Charge Nurse and Chair or Co-Chair Nursing Committee; Trained Peer Interviewer

  • Must hold an unencumbered nursing license prior to start.

Education:

• Preferred: Associates - Nursing- OR -Bachelors - Nursing

Work Experience:

• Required: An equivalent combination of education and experience Related Experience
