Summary:

The Boiler Technician is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, and related mechanical systems to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operations. This role involves conducting routine inspections, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting with troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime. The Technician supports the operation of auxiliary mechanical systems such as chillers, HVAC equipment, and air compressors, contributing to the overall functionality of the facility.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitors, operates, and maintains high-pressure steam boilers and chillers, ensures efficient and safe operation.

  • Conducts routine inspections and rounds of boilers, burners, pumps, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Assists with preventative maintenance and repair tasks on boilers and related systems to avoid downtime.

  • Utilizes control systems and monitoring equipment to track operational parameters such as pressure, temperature, electrical and fuel usage.

  • Assists in adjusting controls to ensure optimal performance and adherence to regulatory and safety standards.

  • Assists with Troubleshoot and resolves operational issues to maintain uninterrupted service of chillers, boilers, and associated equipment.

  • Follows all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Assists in response to alarms and emergencies promptly to prevent system failures.

  • Assists in maintaining accurate logs of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and system performance metrics.

  • Assists in preparation and submission of reports related to fuel consumption, emissions, and equipment status as required.

  • Works closely with facility management, maintenance teams, and other departments to coordinate operational activities.

  • Assists with operation of other mechanical systems, such as chillers, air compressors, and HVAC equipment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Certifications:

  • Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record | Driver's License - Current State Licensed | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources

• Required: A minimum of 2 years Related Experience
