Mining Operations Manager

The Job

The Mining Operations Manager oversees the performance and productivity within the Mining Data Center. This role will manage client-hosted and company assets throughout every phase of asset disposition, ensuring the Data Center remains compliant with corporate key performance indicators, priorities, and product developments. The Mining Operations Manager ensures compliance with approved budgets, manages resources, and establishes workflows for projects required within the Data Center.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the staff and operations of the Mining Data Center, including budgets, service level agreements, compliance, and reporting.
  • Manage projects and oversee deployments as needed.
  • Manage Incident Management and Risk Management compliance.
  • Asset Lifecycle Management from arrival to retirement of machines.
  • Mentor and develop all Team Members to reach their professional and personal goals.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) & EOPs (Emergency Operation Procedures).
  • Define, maintain, and implement performance metrics in all facets of the Data Center.
  • Ensure employees follow safety rules and procedures and adhere to federal and local safety laws and policies.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team, with co-workers/ teammates, and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, Technical School certification, or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • 5 years of experience in a related field in progressively responsible roles is required.
  • 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience required.
  • Strong work ethics, leadership, and team-building skills are required.
  • Strong understanding of Network, Electrical, Mechanical, and building systems required.
  • Proficiency with Web-based programs, Excel, and Word Processing required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required,
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Travel

Occasional travel between data centers may be required.

Work Environment

This job operates in a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment, including ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, and voltmeters. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.

Physical Demands

This position is a management role; however, it requires physical demands when there are deployments, decommissions, or critical work to be done. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. General hours of operation and workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, during projects or emergencies, it is expected that the manager be working onsite, including some evenings and weekends, as needed.
