Personal Banker - Grand Forks

Department: Retail Banking
Location: Grand Forks, ND
Salary Range: $18 - $26/hr DOE

First International Bank & Trust is seeking a Personal Banker to join our Grand Forks branch. This role plays an important part in delivering a positive customer experience while supporting the day-to-day operations of the branch. From handling transactions to helping customers open and maintain accounts, you’ll be a key contributor to both service and relationship-building in the community.

As a family-owned and operated community bank, we focus on building long-term relationships with our customers and within our communities. Our Grand Forks branch offers a Monday–Friday schedule (no Saturdays) and a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming, professional experience for customers while following best practices to verify identification and protect against fraud.
  • Accurately process a wide range of financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments.
  • Maintain and balance cash in accordance with established procedures and internal controls.
  • Open and maintain consumer and business accounts, including gathering documentation and explaining account features, services, and bank policies.
  • Build relationships with customers by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate products and services.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and make referrals to support customer needs across the bank.
  • Support overall branch operations and work collaboratively with teammates to ensure daily coverage and service standards.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and confidentiality expectations while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous customer service and/or cash handling experience preferred.
  • Banking or financial institution experience is a plus, especially experience with account opening, account maintenance, or relationship banking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional approach.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle transactions and customer information accurately.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a team-focused mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and take on a variety of responsibilities within the branch.
