The Electrical Engineer III serves as a senior technical resource, providing expert-level electrical engineering support for Ideal Aerosmith’s products and testing solutions. Core focus areas include servo systems, analog and digital logic, and complex system integration. This role demands a strong interdisciplinary understanding of how electrical systems interact with mechanical and software components. The ideal candidate demonstrates a high degree of autonomy, leads complex projects from concept to completion, and provides technical guidance to peers. Exceptional troubleshooting abilities, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential. This position reflects a greater depth of expertise and broader responsibilities than the Electrical Engineer II role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Apply principles and practices of electrical engineering to design the electrical system for the Ideal Aerosmith product.
  • Prepare technical drawings and specifications for the electrical system components.
  • Prepare system integration documents and users manuals.
  • Advise mechanical engineers on the physical design of equipment, to ensure ease of assembly and troubleshooting.
  • Review customer Statements of Work and work to understand the requirements and their impact on system design.
  • Develop and coordinate test procedures to ensure operation of equipment meets quality standards, regulations and customer requirements.
  • Confer with engineers, product management, customers, and management to discuss existing or future engineering products and projects.
  • Provide electrical expertise to the integration team and to customer support as needed.
  • Provide estimates for labor, material, and other costs for quotes and timeline development.
  • Participate and lead within the guidelines of the Entrepreneurial Operation System
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other regulatory standards.

Qualification Requirements

  • BS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • 6-9 years of electrical engineering design experience.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) and obtain a passport.
  • To meet the requirements for government contract work and work in a restricted facility, candidates must adhere to specific criteria set by federal regulations. This includes: 1) a U.S. citizen (whether born or naturalized); 2) a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or 3) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C.

Skill Requirements

  • Must possess skills in the following areas of Mechatronics:
    1. Motors/Drives
    2. Feedback Devices
    3. Electrical Hardware/Software Integration
    4. Industrial Controls/PLC’s and Power Systems
  • Strong knowledge of kinematics and thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with popular programming languages like C/C++, C#, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to lift and/or carry 45 lbs.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at computer workstation/keyboard.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • The position will require walking, standing, squatting, crouching, stooping, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, sitting, repetitive motion and kneeling.
