The Government Inventory Control Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting the efficient movement of parts and materials throughout the organization. This role receives, verifies, stores, and distributes materials to internal departments and external customers while ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures and production schedules.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming shipments, including unpacking, verifying, and recording parts and materials.
  • Inspect and compare shipment contents against packing slips, receiving reports, and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Record shipment and receiving data, including discrepancies or damages, for reporting and accounting purposes.
  • Measure, weigh, and count materials as required.
  • Retrieve parts for work orders to support production schedules.
  • Prepare and distribute material kits for production departments across all locations.
  • Follow established inventory control procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of inventory, warehouse, or related experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Forklift operating experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Certified to drive forklift or willingness to get certified.
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Due to federal contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. §1324b(a)(3).

Skill Requirements

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Accurate completion of documentation and paperwork.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic accounting knowledge preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to lift and/or carry 45 lbs.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at computer workstation/keyboard.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • The position will require walking, standing, squatting, crouching, stooping, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, sitting, repetitive motion and kneeling.
