The Director of Human Resources will serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team, driving initiatives that support JLG’s growth as a nationally recognized architecture firm and an employee-owned organization. This leader will champion a culture of excellence, accountability, and engagement while overseeing all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, professional development, total rewards, employee relations, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership to design and implement HR strategies that align with JLG’s business goals, core values, and ESOP culture.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing counsel on organizational design, workforce planning, and leadership development.
- Lead cultural and change-management initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and retention.
- Oversee recruitment strategies to attract and retain top-tier talent across all disciplines in alignment with firm’s business goals.
- Drive strategies for learning and development, performance management, and career growth opportunities.
- Ensure JLG attracts and retains top talent by reinforcing our reputation as an industry-leading employer.
- Develop and support HR staff in achieving performance expectations and goals.
- Foster an employee experience that reflects JLG’s vision and values.
- Lead engagement initiatives, including employee surveys, feedback programs, and recognition systems.
- Support supervisors in building high-performing, accountable teams.
- Design competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programs (total rewards) aligned with JLG’s ESOP model.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and industry standards.
- Partner with finance team to align HR programs with business planning and budgeting.
- Oversee HR policies, systems, and processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, employee accessibility, and effective risk management.
- Leverage HR analytics to support decision-making and measure operational effectiveness.
- Lead continuous improvement in HR practices.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of HR leadership experience
- Proven success as a strategic HR leader in a growing, multi-location firm.
- Strong expertise in organizational development, talent strategy, and employee engagement.
- Deep knowledge of HR compliance, employment laws, compensation, and benefits administration across multiple state jurisdictions.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to critically analyze data and connect people initiatives to firm performance.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Superb attention to detail and discretion in maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to model and foster trusted leadership, accountability, and collaboration.
- Proficient in MS Office suite, with the ability to learn other programs
Preferred:
- Professional services, and/or ESOP experience
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or related certification
- Paylocity experience
