Job Description Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lean Operations / Continuous Improvement Intern to support key operational excellence initiatives within our plant environment. This internship is a great opportunity for a student or early-career professional interested in lean manufacturing, daily management systems, workplace organization, and data analysis

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Daily Management utilizing iObeya (New Daily Management Software)

  • Assist with digital Lean initiatives using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Smartsheet

  • Support problem-solving activities using Lean methodologies

  • Assist tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Provide support for BiQ (Built in Quality) rollout initiatives

  • Conduct data gathering, tracking, and analysis to support lean and operational improvement projects

  • Participate in Kaizen events to improve Safety, Quality and Delivery

  • Help identify process improvement opportunities and support execution of action plans

  • Collaborate with plant teams and stakeholders to ensure successful deployment of continuous improvement initiatives like 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work to improve workplace organization, efficiency, and safety

This is not a “sit-behind-a-desk” internship. The selected candidate will spend significant time on the production floor interacting with operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and leadership teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field

  • Strong interest in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and plant operations

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret data

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other basic data/reporting tools

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or operational environment with cross-functional teams
