As a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist – Level 1, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position does offer FT remote work, however, you must be located near a NG Space site. (Redondo Beach, CA, Chandler, AZ, Dulles, VA or Baltimore, MD).
Responsibilities:
Sources and procures items of within the mechanical commodities, of medium to high complexity
Initiate Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers
In conjunction with quality organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules
Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required. Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations
Issues purchase orders
Manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations
Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities
Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded
Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed
Utilize process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement
In this job, you will:
Develop RFQ utilizing specifications, statements of work, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, components, and assemblies
Prepare bid packages, analyze and evaluate proposals, negotiate PO provisions, administer resulting PO and ensure on time delivery
Manage performance of Purchase Orders and assigned suppliers, ensure compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations
Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, planning, operations, program and end-users
In conjunction with quality organization, evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules
Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through proactive supplier management.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovation behaviors in past projects, roles or experience
Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward
Experience in a MRP system, SAP and CostPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with large dollar, complex purchases including subcontracts and long-term agreements
Experience procuring in an engineering development environment
Experience in machining, forgings, extrusions, composites or raw material commodities
Experience leading negotiations with suppliers
Basic comprehension of technical drawings and documents
Knowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations
