This position is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of the Human Resources function. The HR Generalist will provide leadership and direction for recommending, implementing, and supporting practices necessary to drive the success of the facility and be a strategic business partner. Performs a full range of HR related duties to support the plant operations in the following areas: recruitment, new hire training, employee relations, benefits, compensation changes, workers compensation claims submission, leave administration, and HRIS system management (Workday).

Job Description:

Schedule: Primary work schedule is 1st shift, Monday-Friday. Facility is 24/7 manufacturing.

Work Location: 1801 N 36th St, Grand Forks, ND

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $61,000 - $104,000 annually with additional bonus potential

Position Scope/ Summary

  • Maintain and update HRIS (Workday) for a full range of personnel actions during the life cycle of employment.

  • Maintain and update electronic personnel records.

  • Administers weekly and biweekly hourly payroll.

  • Owns onboarding process; equipment/services ordering, network/system access, scheduling and conducting new hire orientation. HRIS entry, including compensation changes.

  • Actively participates in staffing and selection process for hourly plant positions: internal and external.

  • Assists in development and implementation of personnel policies/procedures and Human Resources processes.

  • Point of contact for benefit questions as they arise including resolution of any problems.

  • Assists with coaching and counseling to address behavioral and performance issues with hourly employees.

  • Works with all levels of employees on Performance Management.

  • Develop, implement, and deliver on HR projects, as needed.

  • Handles a full range of week and monthly reports and HR Scorecard data

  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning all areas of HR and employment.

  • Promoted a positive work environment for all employees through multiple channels including coordination of employee activities and events, including engagement and recognition.

  • Adheres to company’s food safety, physical safety, conduct, sanitation, and GMP policies.

  • All other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish) preferred

  • 3 or more years of experience working in Human Resources

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to complete tasks independently

  • Knowledge and understanding of HR law and practices

  • Ability to act ethically and confidentially in all functions

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and diplomacy in dealing with executives, staff members, clients and visitors
