Assist the Computational Research Center – DREAM Lab team with coordinating the development of a OpenUSD-X3D file translator for the open-source Adobe/AOUSD File Translator Plugin. The UND DREAM Lab is a “Small Organization Member” of the Web3D Consortium (Web3D) and a “Contributing Member” of the Alliance for OpenUSD (AOUSD). OpenUSD is a 3D file format originally developed by Pixar, and later released as an open standard through the AOUSD organization. It serves as the basis for the NVIDIA Omniverse digital twin and metaverse platform. OpenUSD is heavily used in the entertainment industry and is expected to have increased industrial uses over time. X3D is a 3D file format and run-time architecture to represent and communicate 3D scenes and objects on the Web.
