The Department of Aviation at the University of North Dakota seeks qualified applicants for a 60% workload, 9-month, non-tenure track, faculty position at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor. Anticipated start date for this position is August 16, 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching various aviation courses (3/3 60 % course load) at the undergraduate level.
- Teaching Aviation Law, Aviation Insurance, and possibly some advanced aircraft operations courses.

Required Competencies

Ability to teach and develop aviation courses at the undergraduate level.

Minimum Requirements

J.D. degree and minimum of 3 years of professional aviation experience.
FAA ATP pilot certification and FAA CFI/CFII certificate.
Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

Insurance industry experience in claims or underwriting.
Evidence of established record of successful, collegiate-level classroom teaching in aviation.
