Scene Shop Assistant-Painter

- 14.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Executed scenic painting techniques including faux finishes, texture work, distressing, and color blending to support theatrical productions
- Collaborated with scenic designers, technical directors, and fellow students to interpret and realize design concepts
- Prepared scenic surfaces by priming, base coating, and repairing flats, platforms, and props
- Mixed paints to achieve accurate color matching and consistency across scenic elements Assisted in translating scale renderings and paint elevations to full-scale scenery Maintained a clean, safe, and organized paint shop, following all safety and material-handling procedures Met production deadlines by working efficiently during build, tech, and strike periods Supported load-in, touch-ups, and strike of scenic elements as needed - (Essential)
