  • $75,000+ 9-month contract
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite at UND Grand Forks, ND campus

Purpose of Position

The Herr School of Accountancy is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure-track full-time Lecturer to teach eight undergraduate/graduate courses in Accounting per year, including experiential/service learning related to community tax programs. This teaching load may be adjusted based on involvement in grant-supported tax activities. The Lecturer will also contribute to the mission of the department and University through service activities and will be expected to maintain faculty qualification.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teaching - The anticipated teaching load is four sections/courses per semester during the academic year (fall and spring semesters). Courses will include “Business Analytics with Spreadsheets,” an advanced spreadsheet course that provides a foundation for data analytics using accounting data. Additional courses may include financial accounting, managerial accounting, and/or income tax topics. Course delivery modalities will include on-campus teaching and may also include hybrid (live+online) and/or asynchronous online delivery
  • Service - Service expectations include maintaining a CPA license and sustained professional engagement to fulfill faculty qualifications as outlined in the Nistler College Faculty handbook. Additional service roles may include advising student groups, fulfilling service-related grant obligations, school, college, and/or university service roles, professional and/or alumni engagement, and/or supporting experiential/service learning activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited college of business.
  • CPA license (active).
  • Experience teaching at the college level in accounting, data analytics, and/or taxation.
  • Professional work experience in accounting (to fulfill faculty qualification requirements)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching foundational data analytics skills using Excel
  • Income taxation experience in public accounting
  • Professional experience recruiting accounting professionals and/or supporting student career development
