- This position will work onsite the Grand Forks, ND campus.
Purpose of Position
The mission of the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship, and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.
The CNPD is comprised of the departments of Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Social Work. The CNPD is also the home of the Children & Family Services Training Center.
Through its teaching, scholarship and service, UND’s Social Work department advances social, economic and environmental justice, and enhances human well-being and quality of life within the state, region and beyond.
The Social Work department is hiring a senior administrative assistant to serve on the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) grant. This position coordinates and executes assigned components of a multi-partner, grant-funded initiative focused on advancing best practices related to the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). The position facilitates and leads one affinity group, coordinates timelines and deliverables across additional affinity group leads, and coordinates planning, preparation and execution of partnership meetings, communications, presentations and defined project deliverables.
Duties & Responsibilities
- 35% - Affinity Group Facilitation & Coordination
- Independently facilitates and manages one assigned affinity group
- Creates agendas, facilitates meetings, coordinates logistics and track/documents progress toward group goals
- Coordinates timelines, deliverables, documentation and follow up across all affinity group leads
- Tracks participation, action items, milestones and merging needs across affinity groups
- Communicates updates, risks and coordination needs to the project manager
- Serves as point of contact for affinity group members within assigned scope
- 35% - Partnership Operations & Key Meeting Coordination
- Coordinates planning, preparation, execution and follow up for all meetings, including internal, design team, partnership, multi-agency and Tribal-state
- Coordinates meeting logistics, schedules, materials, agenda and documentation for partnership discussions
- Maintains shared calendars, documentation systems and project management tools
- Exercises independent judgment in managing day-to-day coordination responsibilities and elevates issues as appropriate
- 20% - Communications, Social Media & Dissemination Coordination
- Researches, develops, schedules and executes content for project-related communication platforms
- Coordinates preparation, formatting and production of presentations and materials
- Prepares reports, briefs, handouts, slide decks and other dissemination products related to project activities and outcomes
- Maintains project-related content on the UND ICWA website
- Coordinates routine partnership communications, including distribution of materials, meeting follow up and project updates
- 10% - Research, Data & Technology Coordination
- Coordinates preparation and tracking of routine regulatory and administrative materials, including IRB documentation and data-sharing agreements
- Coordinates data collection logistics, organizes project data and prepares materials for reporting and evaluation purposes
- Uses new technologies, platforms and tools to support the project

Minimum Requirements
- Associate’s degree in General Studies or equivalent experience
- Experience in cross-cultural settings, including with Tribal nations or Indigenous communities
- Experience with use of software to manage projects
- Occasional travel, including overnights
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in General Studies
- Experience with grant-funded initiatives, research or program evaluation
- Experience using Qualtrics or similar data collection platforms
- Experience managing or contributing to organizational social media or digital communications
