  • This position will work onsite the Grand Forks, ND campus.

Purpose of Position

This position will support the Takaku Laboratory by conducting research focused on chromatin-based gene regulation and transcriptional control in breast cancer. The postdoctoral researcher will perform cutting-edge molecular and genomic experiments in breast cancer cell systems, contribute to laboratory management, and collaborate closely with the PI and other team members.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • 100% - 1. Conduct research focused on chromatin-based gene regulation and transcriptional control in breast cancer. The postdoctoral researcher will perform cutting-edge molecular and genomic experiments in breast cancer cell systems, contribute to laboratory management, and collaborate closely with the PI and other team members. 2. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain expertise in advanced epigenomics and functional genomics approaches, including CUT&RUN and CUT&Tag profiling, Single-cell genomics and transcriptomics, Chromatin accessibility and transcription factor binding analyses, Integrative bioinformatics and multi-omics data interpretation. The postdoc will play an active role in generating publishable datasets, preparing manuscripts, and presenting findings, with strong opportunities for authorship in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals. This position provides excellent training for individuals interested in careers in academic research, cancer biology, epigenetics, and genomics - (Essential)

Minimum Requirements

  • Ph.D. in genetics, biochemistry, structural biology, genomics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, or a closely related field (candidates expected to graduate within six months will be considered)
  • Two years of experience in biochemistry, cell biology, structural biology, genomics, or molecular biology, including experimental techniques such as next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation, PCR, and DNA cloning.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in genetics, genomics, and/or biochemical assays
  • Demonstrated productivity, as evidenced by first-author publication(s)
