Salary/Position Classification

  • $70,000+, 12 month contract, Exempt
  • 40 hours per week
  • This position will work onsite at UND Grand Forks, ND campus

Purpose of Position

The Department of Aviation at the University of North Dakota seeks qualified applicants for a 12-month, non-tenure track, faculty position at the rank of Instructor.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
    • Teaching various aviation courses at the standard Instructor teaching load at the undergraduate level.
    • Teaching various aviation flight courses, safety courses, etc.
    • Mentoring students on academic and career aspirations.
    • Serving on departmental, college and university committees, as assigned. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Required Competencies

  • Ability to teach and develop a broad array of aviation courses at the undergraduate level.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an aviation related field and 2 years of professional aviation experience.
  • Hold a current FAA CFI, CFII, and MEI certificate.
  • At least one year of experience providing flight and classroom instruction in an FAA 14 CFR 141 flight training program or equivalent training experience working at an FAA 121 air carrier.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of established record of successful, collegiate-level classroom teaching in aviation.
