Salary/Position Classification

Purpose of Position
The Governmental Affairs Commissioner serves as the primary liaison between Student Government and governmental stakeholders. This position advocates for student interests and supports legislative and public policy efforts.
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Build relationships with government officials and partners
- Represent student interests on public policy issues
- Coordinate legislative advocacy efforts
- Assist with testimony and policy development
- Monitor issues impacting students
Required Competencies
- Interest in government and policy
- Strong communication skills
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a UND student
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
