Salary/Position Classification

  • $15.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • 10-12 hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: No
  • Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position with work-study eligibility.

Provide excellent customer service at the Ask Us Desk in Chester Fritz Library, enabling access to library collections, services, technology and spaces by all members of our community. Available hours are 7 days/week in Fall and Spring, including weekends, evenings and nights. Higher hourly salary is available for weekends and later hours. We are looking for friendly, flexible, students who enjoy working with others and are willing to learn.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide positive, proactive customer service
  • Assist users in person and by phone to access collections, spaces, and services
  • Offer technology and equipment support
  • Promote library resources and services
  • Support library events and outreach
  • Support librarians in updating research guides or other online resources
  • Continuously grow knowledge and skills
  • Other projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Applicants must be current UND students (any discipline) and enrolled at UND for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Must have an accepted Federal Work Study award from the Office of Student Finance
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
