Salary/Position Classification

  • $1700 for Master's & $2000 for Doctorally prepared per credit
  • Hours: 5.34 - 8.01 hours/week depending on assigned class
  • Remote, hybrid or on campus work availability will be dependent on course assigned.

Purpose of Position

This mission of the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to provide excellent and collaborative education, scholarship, and service to advance human well-being for all, with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations.

The CNPD is comprised of three departments: Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Social Work.

The department of Social Work is seeking an adjunct instructor who will be responsible for the planning, presentation and evaluation of classroom instruction and all related activities.

A sampling of teaching assignments for Fall 2026 semester includes:
SWK 506, Social Policy
SWK 533, Advanced Generalist Practice Field Education Seminar II
SWK 534, Advanced Generalist Practice with Treatment Groups
SWK 543, Research in Clinical Practice
SWK 560, Topics of Social Work Practice

The position may be offered again in future semesters.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Planning, presentation and evaluation of classroom instruction and all related activities.

Minimum Requirements

  • MSW degree earned from a CSWE-accredited Social Work program
  • Two years of full-time post-MSW social work practice experience
  • Current or ability to hold an advanced North Dakota Social Work license (i.e., LMSW, LCSW)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Social Work (PhD, DSW) or closely related field
  • Prior experience with Social Work education (e.g., BSW, MSW, field education)
  • Instructional experience in direct practice (individuals, families, groups), policy, and/or macro practice
