Salary/Position Classification
- $36,000+, dependent on experience annual, Exempt
- 40 hours per week
- This position will work onsite the Grand Forks, ND campus.
Purpose of Position
Under the supervision of the Center Director and Assistant Director, the ECE Services Supervisor II, provides education and care to children 18 months to age 12 and train, mentor, and supervise students from a variety of disciplines at UND.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment in collaboration with a co-teacher.
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support the cognitive, social, emotional, language, and physical development of all children.
- Observe, assess, and document children's growth and development using approved assessment tools, and develop lesson plans based on individual and classroom needs.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children by maintaining appropriate supervision and following all health, safety, licensing, and program quality standards.
- Build positive partnerships with families through regular communication, conferences, progress reporting, and collaboration to support each child's development.
- Mentor and support student teachers, childcare assistants, volunteers, and other classroom personnel through coaching, modeling, and constructive feedback.
- Participate in required professional development and maintain current certifications, licensure requirements, and knowledge of best practices in early childhood education.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues to foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive team environment.
- Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to University and Learning Center policies, maintaining confidentiality, participating in continuous improvement efforts, and contributing to the upkeep of shared learning and work spaces.
- Perform the physical requirements of the position, including setting up classroom environments, lifting classroom materials up to 30 pounds, and assisting children weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
Employees are expected to comply with all applicable University policies, North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services licensing requirements, ND Bright & Early standards, NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct, Caring for Our Children standards, and other applicable regulatory or accreditation requirements.
Required Competencies

- Strong oral/written communication skills
Minimum Requirements
- Associates degree in Early Childhood Education
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
