Purpose of Position
This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.
The International Center is actively looking for individuals with a high level of energy and experience in dynamic roles such as mentoring, leadership, and other similar fields. The Bridge Peer Mentor Coordinator is a multi-faceted position focused on program overseeing, implementation, and evaluation. Bridge is a mentorship program that assists new international students with their transition to the University of North Dakota and adjustment to U.S. culture.
The Bridge Peer Mentor Coordinator works closely with a group of 13 Peer Mentors and the International Center (IC) Director to coordinate all Bridge programs and events: Fall and Spring Orientation and the Peer Mentor Program.
The Coordinator will plan various events, serve as a point of contact for a group of Peer Mentors, manage and input new student information, compile monthly assessment reports, and work on special projects as they arise. Through this position, students will develop knowledge and skills in areas such as organizational management, leadership development, event planning and mentoring.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise groups of Peer Mentors
- Recruit Mentees with help from the International Center Director
- Attend Peer Mentor training and workshops
- Assign Mentor groups with the help of the IC Director
- Support Mentors by running Mentor Meetings
- Ensure there is an online group (E.g. Facebook, Whatsapp) where Mentors can readily share information with each other
- Work with Mentors to organize events and activities for the program
- Provide assessment reports of mentoring program to IC Director
- Review tracking notes entered by peer mentors and manage situations for students in need of additional support beyond peer mentors
- Administrative and customer service work with scheduling and other various administrative tasks
- Reserving time (up to 4 hrs. weekly) to meet with and help mentees during your Mentor Office Hours
- Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
- Current UND Graduate student enrolled in any graduate program
- 3.0 minimum grade point average at the time of application and during employment
- Great written and communication skills
- High energy levels and a dynamic personality
- (recommended) Previous experience in leadership role, customer service, or related fields
- Eligible for Graduate Assistantship
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
