Job Description

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Classification: Non- Exempt
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience
Physical Setting/work location: In-Office
Work Schedule: Shift assignments may include day, evening, and weekend hours based on production needs.

The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating production equipment and supporting manufacturing processes to produce high-quality products. This role supports daily manufacturing operations, including raw material handling, batch preparation, equipment operation, packaging, and production documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate production equipment, including pumps, mixers, valves, hoses, tanks, and other manufacturing equipment.

  • Follow batch sheets, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to manufacture products accurately and consistently.

  • Measure, weigh, mix, and stage raw materials according to established formulations and production requirements.

  • Monitor production processes, assist with equipment start-ups, shutdowns, and product changeovers, and promptly report equipment or process concerns.

  • Clean production equipment and work areas following production runs and perform routine equipment inspections.

  • Transfer raw materials and finished products throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

  • Package, label, store, and organize finished products and production inventory.

  • Accurately record production data, including batch information, lot numbers, temperatures, weights, and mixing times.

  • Collect product samples, verify production steps, and report quality concerns to ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Follow all company safety policies, chemical handling procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to support daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required. An Associate’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.

Experience

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, chemical processing, food processing, or industrial operations preferred.

  • Experience operating industrial equipment is preferred.

  • Heavy machinery experience and certifications (e.g., Forklift, Scissor Lift) preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Ability to accurately follow written procedures and batch instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail when weighing, measuring, and documenting production activities.

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic production issues and escalate concerns appropriately.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform activities such as walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, stair and ladder climbing on a daily basis.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly as part of daily responsibilities.
